The Coulee Region

La Crosse, Wisconsin
I had an uneventful flight, thanfully. There were lots of soldiers on my flights who were going to Fort McCoy, then eventually to their doom in Iraq.

There was a couple who were quarrelling at Ronald Reagan Washington National (whatever) Airport, all the way to Chicago O'Hare. Like they were making really hateful, mean faces at each other, all the time, while their 1 year-old baby was peacefully asleep, unaware that her future is going to suck because her parents really shouldn't be married. It made me reconsider my current pro-relationship opinion. Marriage isn't everything, and if you don't get along, you shouldn't be together.

Anyway, the air is fresh and the sky is clear here. They have the doors sealed shut and the air conditioner on when it's 85 degrees with no humidity. I started an open-window rebellion in the house. We had king crab and tender steak. I am full and will probably remain so until I return to DC.

Korn Fest starts tomorrow. Fasten your seat belts...

Jimbo, I think a lot of people are understandably upset about the War in Iraq. I think it's possible to disagree on subject matter, but I have to say that your tone in your last posting about " Troops going to their eventual slaughter" in Iraq sounded cynical- almost hopeful in something bad happening to our troops-more than a few of whome are Gay, but cannot be out because of the stupid don't ask, don't tell policy. FYI,I believe we should pull our troops out. We deserve a better a Commander in Chief than we got-but the tone of that posting just seemed like a cheap shot.

Keep the anti-ac rebellion alive! I've tried here, we actually have a new office rule that we can only turn them on after 10 a.m. and until 4, but that doesn't seem to be sticking. I can't believe I'm in a freakin' tropical country and I'm constantly cold!

Revolution makes the world go round.

Hey, Jimbo. Welcome back to the land of cheese curds. I was hoping that Darren and I could make it down to Holmen for the weekend, but we can't get away. Enjoy your visit with your family!

The statement "then eventually to their doom in Iraq" is really harsh.

I am no fan of the war but I know a few people who have been over there, my brother included, and a trip to Iraq does not always mean death and doom for the soliders.

Yes going over there sucks but your phrasing on this just seems a bit too much.

Ah, Ft. McCoy. Land of rare butterflies and tiger beetles, and hot, sexually repressed young soldiers. OK, I've only actually encountered the first two on that list, but a gurl can dream.

Hey Jimbo, if you find yourself in Chicago at any point while you are here in the middle of the country, would love to hang out and grab a bear( oops...I mean a beer)with you.

Is that the mighty Mississippi in the background of your picture?

Why does Jimbo hate our troops?
