Xanadu, your neon lights will shine...

Xanadu, on Broadway
I think I'm gonna plan for a trip to NYC the weekend of July 6-8, and hope the ticketing process isn't a crapshoot. Any of you theatre queens know the best way to get a ticket, and the best (affordable) seating at the Helen Hayes theatre? David liked it and so did Joe.My.God. I'll admit I'm highly biased towards a favorable review. I'll probably spontaneously combust before I get there.

If the musical's marketing company was on the ball, they would have sent me the above image as a kind gesture and a wise marketing move. A simple Google search finds 35 references to the word 'Xanadu' on the domain 'jimbo.info'. Instead I have to get the image through nefarious means and sources. Seriously.

I have Internets access at home! But now they're calling me with follow-up appointment visits for no reason at all. I've told them I'm fine, and I'm afraid they're gonna come and mess it up again. I'll leave a note in the transfer gadget boxy thing outside which they basically trained me how to maintain and repair after several calls to their service center. I'm all for customer empowerment but I'd prefer they take care of that stuff themselves.

This just in: starting lead in Xanadu breaks foot during rehearsal.

Did any of you think Xanadu was some kinda cakewalk? Huh, punks? That man BROKE HIS FOOT for this show. This is dangerous work!

Hi Jimbo...I work for a theatre company here in NYC...so I'll check into tickets for you. You probably want them on the 6th or 7th right? Let me see who I know over there at HH.

Jimbo, I always use my contact at BroadwayCares when I want to get a good seat for a show. It costs a bit more but the extra $$ is a tax donation. I can send you the contact info if you want. /Rob

This site is dependable and has half price tickets. I used it a lot when I was in NYC in October.

If Patrick doesn't come through...give it a shot.

Hey Jimbo,
Who did you have to kill to get a good Xanadu graphic. When I was posting my adventures at Xanadu, all I had to work with was some small pics from the offical X website. I went to the third night the show played. Hillarious! I wanted to buy X merchandise but all they had for sale in the lobby was the movie soundtrack and some magnets. The bf went back in after the show and bought me a magnet.

I've used Broadway.com. I was in NYC the weekend of the marathon last year. I got single seats at Avenue Q and Spamalot two days before the respective performances. Granted, they weren't as new. Paid face value, but the seats were excellent.

A friend of mine was sitting in the audience of Starlight Express, the musical on rollerskates, when one of the performers went flying off a ramp and landed in the audience. I heard that after awhile, they had an ambulance parked outside the stage door.

Xanadu also has On-stage seating for $41 that can be purchased ahead of time.
