Ronald Anacelteo, a schizophrenic who resides in a Denver psychiatric hospital, believed that Stevie Nicks was a witch who could cure him of his homosexuality. Anacelteo, of course, said he had no plans to hurt Nicks when she visited the Mile High City for a concert. He just wanted to kidnap and impregnate her.
- Coverage on Stevie's little stalker problem in 1998.
Crystal Visions: The Very Best of Stevie Nicks was released March 27, and I'll have to say it's a wonderful greatest (and some new!) hits album. Do people buy albums anymore? If you do, this one's a good buy, and you can opt to purchase the video compilation as well.
DJ Tre played most of the tracks at Omega on Saturday night, and I was amazed at how many I'd forgotten. That girl's got a lotta songs to share. The newest is a song with Cheryl Crow entitled 'Sorceror'. The CD even includes a fine Deep Dish remix of 'Dreams', and my favorite would have to be 'Landslide', with an incredible backup from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Anyhow, it's so good it's enough to make me into a stalker too:
Full track and video list after the break. I hope you enjoy it:

You really need to think about making that your MySpace main photo. :)
Loved the Deep Dish cut when it came out. Definitely want to hear that "Edge of Seventeen" remake. Wonder if she'll ever have Deep Dish do another remake of one of her tracks with her redoing the vocals? EoS would be a good pick, for example.

There is some sort of festival in NYC where everyone dresses up like Stevie Nicks and for a whole weekend everything is all about Stevie. I hear them calling your name Jimbo Nicks. I've always been a fan, not only because of the great music but because her name kind of rhymes with "Sleezy Dicks" and those are pretty cool too.

See. I told you she could cure me of queer crookedness. Our half-breed witch would no doubt be a prodigy the likes of Dakota Fanning.

I went to the Night of 1000 Stevie's back in 1992, I think, when it was at Jackie 60.
Um, I had a good time, but it sounds a lot more fun than it really is. Getting slapped in the face by flying scarves all night was not that fun.

I saw on iTunes that the scrapped "Civil War" video for Standback is included! I remember Martha Quinn or JJJackson or Nina what's-her-name or Alan-what's-his-name or the VJ Epstein look-a-like telling me that the video cost $750,000 and that Stevie bagged it because she thought she looked fat. Thank god, because the video as we know it with the cute dancing boy really made that song, turned Stevie Nicks from rock roots onto the dancefloor. And now the video is one YouTube, so after 25 years I can finally say I've seen it, and I'm glad that they canned it. Then I spent the following 25 minutes watching all the live clips of Standback... awesome.
