Stanley Cup furgasm
Congrats to the Carolina Hurricanes, a sun belt team, who beat out the long-established Edmonton Oilers last night in the Stanley Cup finals. Didn't hear about it? It wasn't even covered in the Washington Post Express this morning, but there were 4 pages of World Cup semifinal news. I guess hockey just isn't that big around here. Turns out the Jimbo pick, Cam Ward, was the player of the game, in addition to being quite woofy for a 22 year-old.
Yeah, drink it:
And after their victory, there was a furgasm on the ice:
When I was in undergrad back in 1990 or so, I lived on the hockey wing of my university. We had division III champions, many of whom were imported from Canada. I was not out of the closet then, but it is no surprise that I came out not long after. At the time when I was living with all of them, I would avert my eyes in the group shower, and would avoid looking into their open dorm room doors to avoid seeing them shirtless kicking back watching television, all scruffy and furry. D'OH! If I could turn back time.
Last evening we had several nice downpours in the area that gave the soil a much needed soaking. I took this picture at the College Park MetroRail station on the Green Line last night:
My plants are thick and green today, and nothing clears the snot out of your head like a run over a misty post-thunderstorm Rock Creek Park.
Thought of the Day: Did we ever find out who did the whole anthrax in the mail thing? How come our politicians never talk about it anymore? Is our mail system safe? Who did it? Does anyone care? I still think about it.

I still think about the anthrax thing too. We were suppose to forget and think about something much more important, like not letting gay men and lesbians get married, but that only distracted the weakminded. I also notice jet contrails that don't seem to go in the right direction or do u-turns.

We haven't conclusively found any links to any group about the anthrax scare of 2001. Fortunately I wouldn't lose any sleep over it because it is very difficult to weaponize anthrax to the point where sending it through the mail could cause a major health risk, and the chances that terrorist groups have access to the technology required to clean, aerolize, and package anthrax in spore form is not likely.
Oh and the politicians don't talk about it anymore because the gays attack on the social fabric of america is way more important...obviously.

The fbi investigated the crap out of it and found the guy they think is responsible, they had to dogs walk up to his house and point him out. But they were never able to prove it and I think he is currently sueing the FBI for disclosing his name after the investigation concluded but couldn't pin it on him.

Most likely he is involved but knowing the FBI at the time, they probably fucked up the investigation.

Hey, when the social fabric of America is a fabulous gold lame or a kicky chartreuse chiffon, I'll stop attacking it.

I was miffed that The Stanley Cup was not as well covered as the other sports. I had to watch the game online cause none of the local stations carried it.
I was cheering Edmonton on.. but my team is TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS

Many more people have met their deaths because of Gay Marriage Syndrome. It's true- Ann Coulter told me so.

They were discussing the 2001 anthrax attacks on "The Junkies" radio show on WJFK this morning so I guess they read your blog, Jimbo.
I remember at the time I had read that pets were susceptible to falling ill from the virus before people. I suspect that tossing my cat into the vestibule to sniff the mail each day was a really bad thing to do, in retrospect.

Ok, What I really want to know if whether you finally got laid yet? -Arf!

Dear 'O': What do YOU think? Look at the picture of me in the upper right hand corner of this blog's home page and wager a guess.
