The Diva, The Witch, The Goddess: Tilda

tilda swinton
I just got back from seeing The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe tonight and it was all I could do to keep from turning this entire blog into a shrine to Tilda Swinton. But let me count the ways:

- Tilda on a sleigh;
- Tilda in a fabulous ermine stole;
- Tilda with white dreadlocks;
- Tilda on a polar bear chariot a la the old Rumple Minze ads;
- Tilda with a mane;
- Tilda with the Two-Weapon Fighting proficiency and a wand of petrification.

Ohmigawd. Tilda. Whoever designed her dresses better get an Oscar. Oh yeah, and the kids and the CGI were great too, and Rupert Everett was the voice of the fox in the movie.

Tilda rocks! Especially in the rock star battle gear.

However, I did, on occasion, find the thickness of her bodice just a little disconcerting. Also just a little disconcerting . . . Mr. Tumnus was kinda,um, hot.

But did it have the classic line, "No more Turkish delight for you!"

Tilda's dresses were so intricate they must have been tailored by elves. She does icily evil so well even I was scared when she yelled at Edmund the first time.

I can already hear PETA going on about the furs. Makes me want one even more.

She said "No more Turkish delight for you!"?? Now I know: being a pastry Nazi, her harsh punishment was being mauled by Aslan....

Festive background. Is that meant to be seasonal, or have you decided to turn the blog into a shrine to Tilda Swinton afterall . . . NTTATWWT.

I saw Narnia this weekend, and Tilda Swinton redeemed this movie. She was so fawking brilliant that I had to go home and watch orlando. Yeesh. Those eyes. If I weren't strictly dickly, I'd be on that like white on rice.
