summer beer makes me feel fine

Last night I met up with North Dallas Thirty who was in town for work. We went to The Big Hunt, and I discovered the yummiest beer you can find in DC - the Brooklyn Brewery Brooklyner Weisse wheat beer. I will not forget the taste. My eyes almost bugged out of my head it was so tasty. Anyway, the conversation was just as delicious.

School has started in DC, and there were youngsters about everywhere last night and today. A herd of sleek, shirtless university cross country teammates ran by as I waited for the shuttle this morning. It worked better than a pot of coffee, lemme tell ya.

No residual rain from the hurricane, but lots of humidity, wind and ominous clouds. It's been awful yucky humid here this week, I think the most humid I've ever felt here. Luckily it's not that hot, just sticky.

I was excited to learn that there will be a peace rally September 24-26. They are asking for volunteers to help out. I get bored quick during speeches, but I want to help out. I just hope it doesn't turn into a WTO-type "let's trash DC" sort of riot, which would be ironic. Hmm...what if I support the occupation of Afghanistan but not Iraq? Should I just go to half the rally?

While I haven't had the Brooklyner Weisse (although I'll be sure to try it, since I love wheat beers), may I strongly recommend the Brooklyn Brown Ale. I'm generally not too crazy about dark beers, but the Brown Ale is delicious!

I made a mistake and looked at North Dallas Thirty's blog. It would be difficult for me to be civil to someone who mocks the mother of a recently deceased soldier...

You know, why can't they take their rally to their hometown? I hear St. Louis is a great place for a rally. I'll consider going, if they behave on the first day.

You can go to all of it, but you have to carry as sign explaining your support for the occupation of Afghanistan.

Homer,

Idiots spewing ignorance in hopes people listen to them deserve to be mocked or corrected, regardless of what invulnerable status the morally and politically correct thrust upon them. She may have a noble cause and be a good person, but she is not in the right territory to be productive.

Not that I agree with his mocking of her necissarily, but she ain't bulletproof Jesus. She's obviously no expert, so to not hold her to scrutiny would literally be wrong.

I wish it would rain, along with some big thunder and lightning to clear the air! It has been way to gross this summer and it is time we got some clear, cool air. It was nice being in Canada where they think 40% humidity is oppressive, especially at 75 degrees and sunny!

If you're ever up in Balmer, check out Brewer's Art's Resurrection! It's my favorite stateside beer.

I totally agree, Jimbo -- it WAS good beer.
I toyed with the idea of having the Brown Ale, as Chip suggested, but figured the Weisse was more my style -- and indeed it was.

I'm sorry you don't like my blogpost, Homer; however, I stand by what I have written. She is definitely a woman in pain; however, the way in which she is expressing it is appalling and foolish. Moreover, you'll note I saved my harshest words for the people who are exploiting her grief.
