famous girly catfights

The other day I mentioned an offhand reference to Tiffany vs. Debbie (Deborah) Gibson, the classic battle of good girl versus bad girl. There have been many before and after. Now it's all about Britney vs. Christina. I think Christina will endure. Britney is already fat, smokes and has a raspy voice like Selma Bouvier Terwilliger Hutz McClure. Anyway, let's try to think of all the girly catfights in pop culture, shall we? here's what I can come up with before 10am:

Madonna vs. ? (The Universe? Cyndi Lauper?) Madonna didn't really have a nemesis, did she?
Britney vs. Christina
Tiffany vs. Debbie Gibson
Tonya Harding vs. Nancy Kerrigan
Ultrasparky vs. Glennalicious

There is a bit of an ex-roomate catfight in yesterday's comments section regarding adhesives. LOOK OUT - RUMBLE IN THE SWANKTUARY!!!

There must have been a catfight pairing in the 90's, but I can't think of one right now. I really have nothing of greater substance to say today, other than I'll be spending much of the weekend finishing unpacking (there isn't much to do after the help I got) and shopping with Gurl for a great many things.

but in the mid-90s...I'm not thinking of anyone. In fact, I can't think of a single major pop song from that entire era.

Actually given the popularity of boy bands, they were the new "girls".
Boyzone vs. That manchester band my sister was obsessed with, 98 Degrees vs. N'Sync vs. Backstreet.

For Girl band catfights, how about those that took place WITHIN the band? I nominate the Go Go's vs Belinda as a true contender

Bad news on the Kylie front. Check out today's Washington Post "Style" section "Names and Faces" column to see that Kylie took over eight of 18 rooms in the cardio wing for her treatment, requring the relocation of patients and an intensive security screening for hospital guests.

Madonna and Sandra Bernhardt catfought (catfighted?) a bit in the 90's, although I think Madge pretty much wiped the floor with her by sheer popularity alone.

Roseanne and Tom Arnold went at it BIG time in the 90's.

Wasn't there some catfight drama going on between Mariah and Whitney in the 90's?

(Maybe we've had so much more media-coverage on current cat drama since, that we've forgotten all about the 90's?)

And, although technically it's more in the 00's now than it was in the 90's, you're forgetting the ultimate pop-star-cat fight: Elton John vs. George Michael vs. Boy George

Madonna had a pretty famous catfight with Trainwre...I mean Courtney Love at some MTV awards show in the early 90's. It never escalated into anything other than random pot-shots, but still entertaining.
