Added to my banned list: use of the name "Cody" as your gay porn star name or as your fake name for your bigmuscle.com profile. No gay man may ever use that name again, either as your first OR your last name. Ever.
For that matter, no trailer park mama may name her little redneck child "Cody" either. Whether he is gay or straight.
Same goes for the variant "Coby" in either case as well.

LOL at Ghirelle pronounced Girl. I thought most Cheyennes were girls (that's girl as in RG, not gurl)? A longtime favorite: L'Tonya. Did the apostrophe mean you were supposed to pronounce it "UhlTonya"?

Well I'll admit that not a month went by after September 11th, that I thought "I wonder how long it will be before I start seeing children (girls of course) being born and named T'aliban". Like the woman whose name I cannot pronounce to save my life: LaFoyia. I keep thinking FOIA, like the Freedom of Information Act, but that extra vowel throws me off. Wanda Sykes first coined the joke about "Benadryl" as a girl's name. Boys get off easy, I mean how far can you go wrong with states/cities? Unless of course your name is Hampshire...

Cody is a pretty common name here in Texas, went to school with quite a few of em!
I think having just one name as a porn name should be outlawed, unless you are performing at a VH-1 Divas concert. I don't give a shit if you call yourself Spike, Ceasar, or Titpig, you should prolly have something before or after it, or else you are gonna make me think of Cher and Madonna, which isn't a good thing.
I went to school with a poor black girl named Corvette. Not sure how her dad got that past her mom. I also knew a dude name DeLeShawn, who ironically had the simple last name of, Smith.

I had a guidance councelor in junior high school named Hyman Kleinman. When spoken quickly, it sounds more like a sport than a name. I think I'll stick to rugby.

In the pediatric world, if you name your child Dakota or Cody, your child is doomed to have some horrible diagnosis. All the Dakotas here have cancer or two-chambered hearts. My favorite place to work is the nursery where I get to see the naming of babies firsthand. My favorites so far:
Malay_sia and Abcde (pronounced AB-so-dy, like rhapsody). Cody should be banned for the fact that it's the name of Kathie Lee Gifford's son, if for no other reason. In Hungary there is a list of names and you must choose one from that list--you cannot make up your own. I'm lobbying for a similar law here.

No No No. America is about Freedom. Freedom to name your child the most overused to the most idiotic name you can think of. To tell parents that they can't name there child LaleShawn or Mike or Fimayle or Chimmychungah is a slap in the face of Freedom, and that would help the terrorists win. No Joke, when I use to work for B-Daltons in the Inner Harbor in B-more, My coworker/Best friend Meira and I, were witness to a little girl by the name of Cheetara. I am not kidding, a little 5 year old girl named Cheetara. Now I dont know if the name was spelled like that, but needless to say it took all our might not to laugh as the mother of this girl yelled out her name.
There should be a test for potential parents in regards to naming their children.
No there should be a list of names forbidden to use on your new born child.
