world track and field championships
Almost no evidence about the World Track and Field Championships on Yahoo sports or on television. It's like the next biggest thing in track and field next to the Olympics, and they're showing it on one of the ESPN channels right now. Kazakstan's decathalete, Dmitry Karpov, got the bronze. Go Zazakstan! And super-hottie Czech decathlete Roman Sebrle got the silver.

Being a former trackster, I'm with ya on this one. Very little recognition in mainstream media. There was a party if the football team won one game but only a few nods if the track team had state qualifiers. Bah!!
Why do people not see the fun in the quickly decided highly intense races to the finish, or to see who can throw or jump the farthest? The same goes for swimming.

Good point Jdub. It's the same reason I refuse to refer to Shaq as an athlete.
Those who push their body's to overcome human limitations are pretty amazing.
And can I lick Mr. Sebrle? Any part, it doesn't matter.
