play in the sunshine

We wanna play in the sunshine
We wanna be free
Without the help of a Margarita or Exstacy
We wanna kick like we used 2
Sign up on the dotted line
We gonna dance every dance
Like it's gonna be the last time

We gonna play in the sunshine
We're gonna get over
I'm feelin' kind of lucky 2 night
I'm gonna find my 4-leaf clover
Before my life is done
Some way, some how, I'm gonna have fun.

Yaaay! The sun came out today, so after work I trucked out on my bike down 6th St. to the Natural History Museum, up the Mall, past the Washington Monument, to the big set of stairs that face the Potomac. There I absorbed as much sun as my bone white body wouldn't reflect for a spell. Then past the Kennedy Center, up Rock Creek parkway, past DuPont Circle proper, then home again. It was good.

I used to do that same trek (but jogging, not biking) when I lived in DC. Boy, I really miss that gorgeous scenery. In good weather, Washington is about the most beautiful city in the nation.
