not fat enough

One last rugby tournament for the spring, and then my Saturdays are free! This will mean sleeping in, cartoons, and long bike rides around town. And it's looking like it will be a mild summer here in DC - knock on wood. Anyhoo, there will be a rematch against the Marines from Quantico...last time we were very close to beating them, and it was sooo enjoyable watching them squirm when we scored tries. With the added confidence of a league win, perhaps we'll have the mojo to pull it through.

Last night at practice, knowing I had no business pushing our new scrum sled, I got on the back of it assuming they at least needed my weight on it and I could go for a ride at the expense of the forwards. It was deemed that I was "not fat enough" and exiled back to the field.

The big scary deadline/travel event at work, originally slated for after Memorial Day, has been delayed at least until August. On the one hand that means a normal, laid back summer for jimbo. On the other hand it may dent into the fall rugby schedule, but at the moment I don't seem to mind. While I thought I was ready for this work deadline, I guess I'll be even more ready for the delayed deadline.

Rhetorical question of the day: Why does everyone I know in NYC assume I should visit them, as opposed to the other way around? Do NYC residents assume none can resist the fabulous gravitational pull of the Big Apple? Come visit my ass in the ghetto.

Bumper sticker seen on the way to West Virginia this weekend:
"Take your kids hunting...so you won't have to hunt them down!"
