Miss Goody Puritan
Does anybody know anything about true Wiccanism and stuff like that? I heard something about not using it as a weapon for vengance and stuff like that, as it's apparently against the true Wiccan religion. Anyhow, threats of violence are frowned upon in many religions, and isn't usually conducive for good relations between people as a general rule.
Speaking of geeky: Don't Come Crying To Me When You Need Someone Who Speaks Elvish.
"Frankly, Steven, given your current level of engagement, I'd be surprised if you could be bothered to study a crude, simple language like Klingon, with its guttural consonants and inelegant constructions."
On a different note, there was a telling encounter on Saturday during the pre-match warm-up. I think I was talking about the Eagle or something, and cute straight Scottish Matt asked what the gay obsession was with leather. I gave a general response, speaking for those who do leather and all that, by saying: "Well, I think since we've overcome one big social taboo [being gay] we find it easy to check out other taboo subjects."
At that moment, one of my grumpy uptight overworked out-of-shape Republican teammates interposed himself rudely into the conversation without knowing the background of the conversation and blurted out, "Harrr...speak for yourself."
Well, Asshole, I was answering a general question with a general answer, making a generalization about people I'm generally familiar with. And I wasn't talking to you. Said asshole also ignores me outright on the field even though I have two years of rugby over him. Said asshole will get a talkin' to if he continues to transpose his frustrations over breaking up with another teammate on to me. Take a break if you can't handle it, otherwise don't piss in yer own pool.
I'm just bitching out loud, but that type of discussion is sooo typically DC (especially with those who've seroconverted to GOP-Positive). People tend to let out Puritanical gasps of shock when such subjects like that come up, and yet later you see them on www.M4Mtelephonepolesex.com the next week with a telephone pole shoved up their ass. That shit just steams me up. It's no secret that hypocricy is the bread and butter in this town, but it still suprises me coming from people I know.

Oops...that wasn't intended to be righteousness, that was joking! Hope it didn't come off the wrong way. Please, I have no place to be judging others about that type of thing...

Hypocracy isn't just a DC thing: they just perfected it in all its forms.
As for assholes comments about Gurl, I would so give a friend those website so s/he could post links to them everywhere. Someone, you know, unknown to those bitches, who hides under beds to bring 'em down. Someone in the mood to make great strides as a vengance demon. Powdering a little certain somet'n somet'n upon asshole for mucking around with ya.
By the by, Wiccan's beleive that by doing an act you gain the effects of your action by four fold. By taking the negative aspect of Wiccanism and using it against someone else, you bring that negative energy back to you four fold: a swift kick in the pants from the godess/mother earth/mother nature/etc. By doing a positive act selfishly, to gain the positive energy, your act is also viewed as negative even though your actions may have a positive affect on another. How karmic. Conversly, there are ways to protect yourself from such actions: binding a wiccan is more of a voodoo act but possible; using the protective rights of your own religion is also very effective; and, using age old pretections against evil (such as the evil eye, amythist or quarts pins, luck charms, salt, or prayers of protection): anything you beleive and have faith in to protect you. As general rule of mystics is as follows: beleif times mass conscience squared is reality.

As a Witch I can say that what we do is simular to Shinto in some respects. Most of the stuff you see in the bookstores is a bunch of crap and 90% is made up bullshit. But real witches inherit the gift and craft from relatives. My grandmother was a witch.
And for speaking Elvish, well I learned that shit in highschool, and lets say that the subtitles in LOTR is close but there were some mistakes, Yes I am an Uber Geek. I also speak Vulcan,Zentrati and i can read and write in Trill. Yes, Geek to the Max

So Dax, you are saying that no "real" witch would ever turn up in a family that doesn't already practice the craft? You think that all Wiccans are full of crap unless they are a hereditary witch? Please enlighten us.

A real Wiccan would be very careful about making a threat against someone...it would have to be along the lines of threatning a pedophile, animal abuser or a rapist-something that is a real threat to the innocent. Otherwise, they will have very limited power sources to tap into.
I find self-professed "Wiccans" that make threats of using magic very tiresome...they are as bad as "Christians" who like to inform you that you are going to Hell and that "God will punish you...."
Just as in D and D, a Cleric needs Wisdom beyond all else...anyone who would make threats of using alleged abilities for retribution for trivial matters probobly does not have the wisdom, therefore does not have the skill to do anything more than waste some good incence.
