design block
I'm workin' on my first private Web redesign gig for a friend, so I started working on it Sunday. Then...WHAM! | Total creative block. I maraud Jocko and JDub's sites for ideas, search the 'net for micro icons and CSS styles...no luck. HELP! Here are some needs:
- The ever-elusive search on how to easily create rounded corners on table cells. Is it possible through CSS? I don't wanna mess with doing those damn corner curvey .gifs either.
- micro-icons, specifically ones symbolizing a little insurance document, a condo, a townhouse and a car, 12 X 12px in size, like these here.
- can't...get...Photoshop...to allow for a pen tip brush...in my attempts to make my own micro-icons I can't seem to get the fuzziness effect out of my brush...I want pixel by pixel accuracy, not a fadey edge effect on my brush.
Now that I'm able to do my temp job faster, I'm finding that without music my mind tends to wander and dwell. Music is the only distraction. No computer at work, and can't goof around by e-mailing y'all or blogging constantly. I'm almost completely through my music selection, and by November I will memorize every Prince, Nickel Creek, Indigo Girls, Sting, Madonna and heavy house lyric in my entire collection.
Yeah, Jocko's firmly planted in the Brad Fullmer Stalking Club along with me and Bubba. Who was drooling over Fullmer years ago? Who gave you the inside scoop on the stud on a monthly basis? Who saw the domination of the Angels over everything? Jimbo, that's who.
Actually, I had no idea, and was just lusting is all. But it was an exciting game last night, tight scores throughout the four-hour game, with lots of hot close-ups of Fullmer's ornery batting face. GRRR! And that shimmy of his when he winds up before the hit gets me cranked. Tune in for the rest of the games, will ya?

first of all, stop looking into Jocko's code for ideas. cuz all of his stuff like, totally sucks, right?? hee hee.
Ok no really I'm kidding. You should difinitely tap into his site for help :-)
I really dont know what to do about your questions. I don't know much about it myself. You borrow ideas/tricks from various places...

You want the pencil tool in Photoshop, not the brush (soft edges) or pen (vector lines which anti-alias). Right-click on the brush tool to switch it to the pencil tool.
CSS? You're on your own. I'm just a pixel jockey. :-)

I agree with Casey: you want to use the pencil tool for a sharp line in photoshop. Better yet, i like to draw my icons in illustrator and then export them to photoshop.
Good luck otherwise. :-)

All i'm saying fer sure is like he has Justine Timberlake on his page, AND roots for those pork faced devils Michigan, GO BUCKS! (Hang on Sloopy Sloopy Hang ON!!!!!) Jimbo, you want to go with the pencil tool, work larger, and make sure anti-aliasing is turned off, you might want to check out the dude from PixelPress, he makes incredible little icons....http://home.golden.net/~ggehiere/pixelpress/icons.html

I can do nothing but wholeheartedly disagree with the previous entries. USE THE SPRAYPAINT TOOL.

Jimbo -
How about designing my website for me? We'll talk details - drop me a line. Rob/truvy

I say go for the crayon and just scan it!
Hell, what do I know? My graphics capabilities are limited to Visio flow charts anyway.
Relief pitcher Webber makes more ornery faces than Fullmer. Still, Fulmer's ass in those tight baseball pants turns my crank! That Angel could certainly take me to heaven. Better yet, I'd like to rally his monkey.
Fullmer Stalking Club? Does that mean there's a Jocko stalking club?
Grrr...back to work.
