A story about a girl who makes dreams come true.”

Xanadu Megamix. Another non-O.N-J megamix.

I saw Xanadu in the theater when it came out. Twice. I was in 7th grade, and I played my 45 of “Magic” on endless repeat for days.

Isn’t it nice that, two years later, Olivia loaned that sequined skullcap to Julie Andrews for Victor/Victoria?
Seriously I have a big spot in my heart for this one. I saw it while home from uni visiting the redneck, homophobic little town I was born in. In addition to good movie memories I recall the local “boys” making of the black muse’s top knot hairstyle and yelling “fag” when male dancers were onscreen.
No matter, three years later my uni’s LBGT group had public movie nights each Tuesday and our first month included a showing of … Xanadu! Let’s say the audience was more enlightened that time. There may have been some sing-along action but i’ll neither confirm nor deny. :)
