Got baptized in my first Portland rainstorm yesterday. Looks like I’m going to need some hardcore raingear if I want to get around on my bike. The weather is reminding me of this Ray Bradbury short story:

Otherwise I got more time out when there’s been sun, including this nice trip to Ramona Falls in the Mt. Hood National Forest with my former housemates Mary and Kiri:

This Townsend’s chipmunk posed for the camera, although I’m guessing he was looking for handouts. Socialism!

We also went to the Olallie Lakes Scenic Area in the same forest on another trip and we found a raft:

It reminded me of this Stephen King short story where an iridescent aquatic blob ate the swimmers (very scary, NSFW):

Hehe… enjoy the warm sunshine while you can before it turns bitter cold and your nips stand full time erect like pencil erasers. ;) BTW – why are you covering your breasts? It is socially acceptable for men to expose their pecs in public. Jesus did.

Great pics. Portland has become my new fantasy life. I’ve been looking at Portland real estate on Trulia. Maybe some day.

Glad you are enjoying your new city and its environs.

Congrats on your move. You act where others only dream.

Looks like you are going to miss the big rain in DC (Hurricane Sandy). I expect for three days we will be experiencing Portland weather.
