Of course I will continue to blog from Portland. And I still have a month or so left in DC to document as well. Last weekend we went out to a friend’s country home out in the wilds of Virginia. Their place was in wine country, so we drank wine. Shane had the giggles:

My friend’s place was near the winery formerly owned by Tareq & “Michaele” Salahi, of The Real Housewives of DC fame. Note the classy marketing, spelling errors and their “Twitter Handle” in this sign:

Doug helped us identify this eyed elator click bug (Alaus oculatus), which apparently has pseudoscorpions nesting under its wing covers, which is kind of horrifying:
