Part XI of an 11-part series.

6th and T, NW DCThis was a sweet place. My bedroom was on the third floor and faced the rising sun which made it so much easier to get up in the dark winter months. The spacious kitchen and living room were on the second floor, which also sported a gas fireplace. A separate unit was the first floor.

The kitchen had an oven to die for, and was the next best thing to a Star Trek replicator. There was a nice back deck where I had potted plants with limited success.

Here I experienced Snowpocalypse, two earthquakes, a derecho, and three consecutive heat wave summers. But it never lost power, ever, which I think was due to its proximity to the Howard University Hospital. Nice restaurants have popped up all over, and the Howard Theatre has been restored to its former glory. Moved in Sept. 2009, left Sept. 2012.

Wait, where are you going? Are you moving to a city with more luxuriant facial hair?
