Genghis Kahn was a total slut
On Saturday I went to see Mongol at the lovely E Street Cinemas. It was a great movie showing the early days of Genghis Kahn (Temujin) and his constant efforts to get back his chosen bride. Genghis was apparently a bit of a slut, but you don't see any evidence of his whoring around in this film. But Eric tells me there are more films to come, possibly a trilogy. Perhaps when his horde starts building up he starts whordeing around more in future films.
I didn't make it to see any of the fireworks on the 4th, although we had enough on the block as it was. I'm guessing somebody blew their entire economic stimulus check on fireworks this year, as I swear they went on for at least four hours. Remarkably, whoever set them off cleaned up any trace of ordnance off the streets.

On Sunday, Renshi, Milo, Zamboni and Rilec battled a zombie owlbear while Aren the warlock flanks from behind (even though undead can't be flanked, fyi).

That's the second blog post today I've read about this movie. You might be interested in reading the other one (URL below) for a different take on it. It's by an American Buddhist monk who lives in Mongolia. I hadn't heard about the movie before and have no idea if it'll be playing in my area.

Hi Jimbo. Sounds like a nice weekend. I enjoyed myself in La Crosse. Friday afternoon Darren and I took a nice 90-minutes cruise on the river. (Pics on my blog tomorrow, not that a Holmen boy like you will be dazzled by seeing pics of the bluffs.) We didn't hit Riverfest, opting instead to stay at Darren's parents' place and sip cocktails on the porch like Pa and Pa Kettle.
Thanks for the Kylie/Kermit clip. Amusing. Did you ever see the Muppet Show that Prince guested on? Pretty surreal.

I bet my half-orc, half drow assassin paladin ranger cleric could've kicked y'all's ASSES with my +5 bastard sword/holy avenger!!
Saw Mongol last week and was pleasantly suprised. I didn't particularly want to see it, and it was pretty good. Kinda violent, which I could have done without, but quite good.
The Man's always keeping a sister down. What's a Drow gotta do to get some respect and a little bit of credit around here?
In case anyone is interested I have the power to perform same sex marriages between Dungeon and Dragon miniatures. I'm licensed in all the planes and realms and only ask in payment a seat at the following reception. Just mail me with details.
So this week I played my first Fourth Ed game.
I'm of two minds.
I enjoyed it, the system seemed relatively easy and hopefully I'll get to see some of my favorite classes (Bard and Druid) return in a upcoming expansion.
On the other hand I ~hate~ miniatures and you can't really run combat without them.
Ah well.
I started as a Warlock (star path) which sumarily ended up getting throw out of the party for alignment reasons.
Ended up with a similiar level Cleric . . who was very much fun to play.
Sadly I think my gaming is going to fizzle.
My group lives in CT, NC and SC . . this is so not going to work out . .
I need a DC group.
