a $500,000,000,000 legacy

A brilliant Washington Post article about the symbolic fall of the biggest house makeover, foreclosed.

With the biggest deficit ever recorded in absolute dollar terms, you still want to vote Republican just because Hillary lost?

"With his eight years in office, he will have had the five highest deficits ever recorded. And the highest of those deficits is now projected to come in 2009, as he leaves office," says Sen. Kent Conrad of North Dakota.

$482,000,000,000. Nice legacy. I'll be sure to remember him for that. Naturally, Bush blames it on Bill Clinton.

Captain Marvel and sidekick making out at Comic-Con. Hawt.

Dammit, Scrabulous is gone. Now what am I gonna do on Facebook? Oh yeah, post more pictures of myself.

And for a bit of levity, a handy mouseover interactive chart of nucleides.

With all the excitement of late, I'm going to do next to nothing this weekend. That is all.

Shame on you! That's Captain Marvel (who says "Shazam" to get his powers) snogging with his sidekick. I'd expect better from bonafide geek like yourself ;).

Grrr... is this a jab at Hillary supporters that are still holding out? Let's see who his VP pick is, then I'll know whether Obama is truly smart or not.

Brett honey, there is no holding out for Hillary supporters. That assumes there's still a possibility of her running against the Republican nominee, which she's not. She lost against a candidate who won. I wouldn't have minded her as the Democratic nominee for Prez, but she lost. That is the reality of the situation. So the feverent Hillary supporters really need to get over that and move on and support the person who gets to run for Prez. There are those Hillary supporters who choose to vote for McCain out of bitterness, and they are dumb and don't really understand politics that well.

Fitz: My bad, I corrected the former 'Shazam' naming of Capt. Marvel.

I am holding out hope that Obama will concede to the will of the people (the stubborn 10% of us Hillary supporters) by choosing her as VP. My position has never shifted.

So, are you saying I am a stubborn jackass? I'll add that to my titles. I have been steadily collecting them ever since "Mr Bayou Grizzly 2006". LOL.

Mmm...you will remember it since you will be paying higher taxes for decades to cover that bill (well that and my baby boomer retirement).

Thanks for pointing out the neat table of nucleides. Don't forget to blame congress too. They write the checks. Unfortunately, Bush couldn't find his veto pen. Note also that Obama's advisor Franklin Raines was the head of Fanny Mae and also Clinton's OMB director.

I don't think any of us ever complain to see more pictures of you on the blog. You know, I'm just sayin'.

Happy Friday to you, and I hope you have a relaxing weekend. I'm sure you can use it. I've started a new job, those first few weekends I just crash. It's exhausting to be the new guy, isn't it?
