On Friday I got a sneak peek screening of Battlestar Galactica: Razor, which premieres on Nov. 24. Teasers are available during Friday's snoozetastic Flash Gordon and on the scifi.com website. The two-hour special is supposed to serve as a backdrop for the events of season four, but also provides a few insights into what shaped Admiral Cain into such a meanie. Some spoilers are after the break.

Sunday was cold and cloudy, and after a refreshing sleep-in, me and Michael went to a few museums down on the mall.

When we took the wrong turn at the galleries of Asian art, we ended up in Mexico, but were blessed to come across Selena's Leather Outfit at the National Museum of American History Kenneth E. Behring Center.

There were some incredible special effects in the space battles both with the Cylons during the 'present' battles under Lee Adama's captainship and with the flashbacks of Pegasus' flight from the initial asault against the colonies. We learn why the Six model exposed on the Pegasus was treated so badly - apparently she and Cain had a little thang going that put a smile on Cain's face, which later turned into spurned rage. The best part was the RETURN OF THE OLD-SKOOL CYLONS back when they actually needed a crew to man an attack ship. The old skool guard was skillfully brought into the plot, and if we're lucky we'll get to see their clunky actions and electronic voices again in season four.

Check out the Turner and Hopper exhibits at the National Gallery too. Turner is sublime. And who doesn't like Hopper . . . although it is harder to experience that sense of aloneness that his work creates when the gallery is packed on a Sunday afternoon. Frankly, the Hopper exhibit at the Whitney in New York last year was much better . . . it may have been fewer pieces, but the gallery was more spacious and really worked with Hopper's style.

The old cylons were AWESOME and creepy! I don't find the new ones nearly as engaging.

Love the chrome stormtrooper ripoff. The bouncing, red scanner eye was a brilliant touch.

Man, I'm jealous.

I found out about the theater preview (I assume that's where you went) way too late and all the Boston tix were gone.

I'm hoping Razor will be enough to satisfy until April. (Jebus! April!)
