back safe and somewhat sound
I made it back to National in several pieces, as my luggage went lost somewhere along the way. I'm hoping it wasn't the 2 cans of LaCrosse Lager I tried to smuggle in my shoes. If I don't get it back, some people aren't going to get their official Lake Pepin Laura Ingalls Wilder tee-shirts for Christmas!
Everyone loves pictures of my mom's piddly dog, Jilly:
Jilly has a weak bladder, but her cuteness makes up for it - almost.
Yesterday I went to the National Bald Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN:
They let you right into the eagle enclosure, but it really smelled.
The Chicago waterfront on the way out of O'Hare airport:
The death toll from the flooding and mudslides around my hometown reached 22, with more storms to come, yet all I saw on the news in the airports today was how a hurricane was somewhat near Texas, threatening oilfields. I guess if it isn't happening on the coasts, it's not important.

There's a raw nerve ... Why do I have to listen to the international news to learn that I-75 closed here in Ohio due to high water? What's happened to local, regional, national news?
I waved as you went over, did you see me?
Glad you made it back safe...the pictures are great....I could not help but notice that a good many of the mens in yours from Wisconsin were also Tevas...the circle has been closed I now understand....
Jimbo
It never seems to stop raining - Des Moines is going to start getting the flooding shortly from the very heavy rains just to the north of us. Supposed to finally push out tomorrow afternoon - but it has rained for a week solid!
Jilly is so freaking cute!
It's very surreal here in California to be reading about so much rain and flooding when we haven't had a drop of rain here since Lindsay Lohan's first toot of coke.
Such a sweet dog- I love dogs! Seriously, tell yer Mum to ask Jilly's vet for Proin- should take care of her weak bladder problem. Neither Jilly or your mom deserve a Jilly with a weak bladder. Welcome back!
I can see my old house from there!
