more annoying camp songs
My brief summary and critique of Pan's Labyrinth is up over on Queer Beacon. I thought it was a good film.
Here's a song we had the younger kids wiggling to during my environmental education practicum training at a Central Wisconsin environmental station when I was in college:
"Ground squirrel, ground squirrel,
shake your bushy tail.
Ground squirrel, ground squirrel,
shake your bushy tail.
Wrinkle up your little nose!
Put a nut between your toes!
Ground squirrel, ground squirrel,
shake your bushy tail."
There's choreography with that song too, but I'll wait until I see you at Halo some night when I'm drunk, and I'll do it for you in front of your friends, then claim loudly that you and I tricked the night before. Or I gotta start documenting these songs on YouTube or something.
It's all about me implanting annoying songs into your brain this week. I'm feeling unusually cruel. Here's one submitted from Jocko:
Oh there was a little birdy with a belly full of poop
and he climbed up a telephone pole
he stretched out his neck
and he pooped about a peck
and he buttoned up his little poopy hole....

Hmmm, I know the song, with a few lyric defferances, from Leadership Camp from way back in High School Student Council. We also played Polar Bears around and Ice Hole and Open Gate/Shut Gate.
And I bet the dance is really similar too.
Harrumph. Here I go, threatening you with "Grey Squirrel", and you post it as "Ground Squirrel". (I always knew the second and fourth line as "swish your bushy tail", though, which only makes it that much gayer.)
Pan's Labyrinth is truly a wonderful film. We saw it yesterday at the Charles Theatre in Baltimore. Nice to see that it was nominated for six Acadamy Awards, including best foreign film.
