something good?

Grrr...something's wrong with Internet Explorer, and I'm forced to use the teensy AOL browser window at the moment. I wouldn't be suprised if AOL overrode my other browser's usage.

I quit my early morning receptionist duties at the sports club in order to utilize my time better during the day. It was paying so low that depositing the feeble check prompted me to seek temp jobs that pay better. However, even temp jobs are hard to get these days, so we'll see. I'll still work at the Lantern, as it pays well, even though the smoke and drunks are getting to me. I don't feel good about quitting without two weeks' notice, but it had to be done.

Working to lower my expenses as well, and I've suspended my gym membership and cancelled my cell phone. Looks like I can lower my auto insurance payments as well, but I seem to be stuck with the car and its hefty loan payments.

On a brighter note, after stopping by my credit union at USDA, I went to visit my former coworkers there. After listening to my plight, one of them swept me off to the head director's office, who informed me about upcoming Internet and IT project coordinator positions within their division. She felt I was a good candidate, but the positions may not be open for some time, as is usual for government jobs. They are both high-paying jobs and they all like and miss me there, so it's a promising lead. Cross your fingers...things could go from bad to very good this summer. In the meantime, I Will Survive.
